Travel workshops · Iceland, Alaska & the Southwest

Workshops built around the light.

Small-group, in-field workshops chasing the aurora across Iceland and Alaska and shooting night skies over the American Southwest — hands-on instruction built around the season, the weather, and the moment the light actually shows up.

Workshops that teach you to see

01 / Approach

You don't need better gear to get a better photo — you need someone next to you who can see the light two minutes before it happens.

Groups are kept intentionally small so there's real time for one-on-one coaching on composition, exposure, and night settings. Locations are chosen for dark skies and a real shot at the aurora or a clean night sky, with the schedule built around the season and the weather instead of a fixed itinerary.

07 / FAQ

Do I need experience to join?

No — workshops welcome all levels, from first-time night photographers to experienced shooters looking to refine technique.

What gear do I need?

A camera with manual controls and a sturdy tripod are the essentials. A gear list with lens and accessory recommendations is sent ahead of each trip.

How small are the groups?

Groups are kept intentionally small so there's real time for one-on-one coaching throughout the trip.

When's the best time to book?

It depends on the destination — Alaska's aurora season runs from late August through early April, with September and March typically the most active. Iceland and the Southwest trips are planned around the season and weather.
